Collaborative Research and Development
Collaborative Research and Development provides grant support to
innovative, business-driven research and development (R&D) projects
in the East Midlands.
Grants are awarded to collaborative partnerships drawn from business,
Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and other research organisations for R&D of enabling technologies with real commercial potential.
The grants are for business-driven, pre-competitive R&D of enabling
technologies and large scale demonstrator projects of innovative
products, processes and technologies.
Which projects are eligible for grants?
Collaborative Research and Development grants are awarded to projects in four key sectors through industry-led innovation Networks (iNets) established by emda:
- Food and drink
- Healthcare and bioscience
- Transport
- Sustainable construction.
Business-driven technology projects in other sectors may also be eligible for Collaborative Research and Development grants awarded by emda.
What are the benefits?
By aligning with the needs of innovative companies, HEIs and other research organisations will undertake R&D which supports businesses to become more profitable.
Collaborative Research and Development also ensures businesses harness the region’s knowledge base so that more new products and services are brought to market sooner.
Businesses will also benefit from:
