Economic evaluation of Biodiesel and investment calculator

Interest in biodiesel production is increasing among farmers in the region. Equipment is now widely available which would allow them to manufacture biofuels on a commercial scale – but investment in such technology can be complex and high risk.

emda has commissioned a report to help farmers evaluate the economic impact of biodiesel production on their businesses. It includes a checklist and calculator which provide a robust method of identifying and calculating likely costs and benefits for farmers considering growing oilseed rape crops for biodiesel production.
