Bidding rounds are now closed for all ERDF and ESF funding streams. Funding under Measures 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.5 has been fully committed to new and on-going projects.

The East Midlands have been approved for Objective 2 status, under the Structural Fund Regulations for the period 2000-2006, for areas including all or parts of the cities of Derby, Nottingham and Leicester, large parts of Lincolnshire, including parts of the city of Lincoln and coastal areas, parts of the Peak District, and the former coalfield area of north Derbyshire and north Nottinghamshire
