Solutions for Business is a suite of highly targeted, publicly funded products and services offering solutions to real business needs and tackling market failure.
Designed to drive qualifying businesses forward, it helps them to grow and succeed by providing help in a number of areas. These include starting up, understanding finance, developing people, environment and efficiency, exploiting ideas, international sales and marketing and growing your business.
Solutions for Business helps you make the most of business opportunities and challenges. By targeting public money at real business needs, it helps businesses create sustainable success.
Transformational ICT
Transformational ICT is designed to support businesses, regardless of size, in using ICT and digital technologies to make a step change in their business processes which then helps businesses to:
- increase productivity
- increase competitiveness
- innovate and exploit new markets
- achieve greater resource efficiency
- create and adopt new business models.
Transformational ICT is funded by East Midlands Development Agency and the European Regional Development Fund and consists of a programme of:
Events – fast moving 2-hour events to provide you with the tools and techniques to improve your companies web presence and introduce technologies to improve business performance.
Action Planning Workshops – a comprehensive range of workshops to help with planning and implementation of selected technology and e-business projects and the transfer of knowledge and skills to key personnel within your business.
Am I eligible for Transformational ICT support?
In order to access Transformational ICT support the business eligibility criteria is as follows:
1. Business status
Your business must be defined as a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME). The definition of an SME used by East Midlands Development Agency is a business or company that:
- has fewer than 250 employees;
- has either (a) an annual turnover not exceeding €50 million (approximately £24 million) or (b) an annual balance sheet total not exceeding €27 million (approximately £16 million); and
- 25% or more of the capital or the voting rights are not owned by one enterprise, or jointly by several enterprises falling outside this definition of an SME.
2. Located in the East Midlands
Your business must be located in the East Midlands .
This region covers:
- Derbyshire
- Lincolnshire
- Leicestershire
- Northamptonshire
- Nottinghamshire
- Rutland
Unfortunately we are unable to work with the following:
- Those businesses that fall outside the remit of an SME
- The retail sector
- Personal services, for example hairdressers, therapists, cafes, etc
- Companies only operating in a local market, for example local builders, plumbers, etc
- Local services by their very nature compete against each other and are not therefore eligible for support due to potential distortion of the market
- SMEs involved in the production and promotion of agricultural and first-stage food processing, synthetic fibres, motor vehicles, coal, steel and shipbuilding
- Public services, banks and insurance companies.
