East Midlands Development Agency (emda) has today announced a new £20m Fund to support the development of premises focused on innovation and growth. This will provide much needed investment for schemes – which have been hit hard by the recession and the lack of available finance – that will enhance the region’s offer in terms of innovation, science and technology facilities.

Backing Young Britain in the East Midlands
Backing Young Britain is the Government’s campaign to bring organisations from the private, public and voluntary sectors together to create new opportunities for young people and ensure their valuable skills and abilities aren’t wasted. The campaign can help employers offer an apprenticeship, give a young person a job and provide work experience.
A series of roadshows will soon be touring the country, and will arrive in Leicester on Monday 8th March 2010. An employer breakfast meeting will take place between 7.45am – 9am at the Cinema Delux, High Cross Shopping Centre, to give employers the chance to find out more. Young people will also have a chance to engage with employers and find out about potential opportunities at a careers advice centre between 10am – 2pm, also at the High Cross Shopping Centre.
